My name is aLan Tait (try saying "Teyt" or "T8"). However, Friends like you just call me Lan!
For those that do not know, I was bedridden. Bedridden means different things to different people, but to me, when you can measure the last time you got out of bed relating to years, like "half a year ago", I consider that bedridden. If you read my testimony you will know how seriously ill I was.
Just to recap some of the illnesses I suffered with (from memory!)...
Diabetes (with insulin shots)
Very High Blood Pressure (250/170)
Cardio Vascular Diseases
An Enlarged Heart
Angina (Chest and also Neck Angina)
Gastric Antral Vascular Ectasia (GAVE or Watermelon Stomach Endoscopy)
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
Cholesterol (Super High and "Bad")
Triglycerides "Off the Charts" (A Lab Tech once asked me, "Who put your Triglycerides on a rocket-ship to the moon?")
Morbid Obesity (528lbs - you know you have Morbid Obesity when the hospital staff refer to you as "the quarter tonner!")
Inoperable Brain Aneurysm (from a motorcycle accident)
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD or Acid Reflux Disease)
Leaky Gut Syndrome
Gastro Intestinal Inflammation
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Increased Intestinal Permeability
Allergic To Nearly Every Food people are allergic to!
Urinary Tract Infections (one after another)
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH or Enlarged Prostate)
Erectile dysfunction (ED, "male impotence")
Irritable Bowel Disease
Painful Constipation or out of control Diarrhea
Disabling Gout
Pernicious anemia
Atrophy of Muscle Mass (muscle atrophy - especially in my back and legs)
Varicosities (Varicose Veins)
Pain in the right Kidney Area
Peptic Ulcer in the Duodenum
Celiac Disease
Dermatitis Herpetiformis
There were other things like dizziness, blurred vision, teeth that hurt so badly that I'd cry half the night, feet painfully swollen, sores that would not heal, and gout so bad I could not stand up, but they hardly seem worth mentioning in light of the above conditions.
